It was after a month that I fully accepted that I have this condition that they called Uretero Pelvic Conjunction Obstruction with Hydronephrosis. A few months from now, I will undergo another surgery that they called pyeloplasty. I can still remember how nervous I was when I undergo a CT Scan. I was hoping and praying that it is not as serious as cancer. Thankfully, it is not.
Lately, I've been attending health related events. The first one was about Cordlife, a talk about life-saving cord blood and cord blood banking. Last November 14, in an intimate forum held at Sento 1771, Kapitolyo ,Pasig- Global Medical Technologies held a talk about advantages of genetic cancer screening in winning the fight against cancer. One of the doctors behind the development of these genetic cancer tests is Dr. Ioannis Papasotiriou. He is the CEO and Medical Director of Research Genetic cancer Center (RGCC).
A cancer diagnosis is one of the worst news anyone can get from their doctor. Your life and future change in an instant, and suddenly everything is uncertain. I know because my grandma was diagnosed with lung cancer. During the event, I was able to found out that cancer test is now within reach. One that could tell the exact aggressiveness of the tumor, at which part of the body it is likely to manifest, and what treatment will be most effective.
